APPLY To Seed sower

Program Eligibility

  • Female, 18 years of age or older
  • Primary diagnosis of a substance use disorder
  • Express a desire to recover from an active substance use disorder
  • If Self-referral or referral from DOC, Drug Court, or another residential recovery program:  Must be able to pass initial drug screen.  
  • If facility  referral:  Upon successful completion of a short-stay withdrawal management program (detox) you may be admitted into Seed Sower upon discharge.  If so, the referring facility or Seed Sower MUST provide direct transportation from the facility to Seed Sower.  
  • Commit to complete abstinence from drugs and alcohol.  Clinically Approved Medication assisted Treatment (MAT) is accepted
  • Be assessed as medically stable  and free of any illness that requires isolation from others
  • Agree to a stay of at least 8 months to 1 year 
  • Commit to 6 months of paid training and employment in Fruits of Labor's ACF certified Culinary and Agricultural Training Program.
  • Commit to contribute $75 per week for the program fee and $45 per week for meal plans.  
  • Have adequate control over their behavior and assessed not to be imminently dangerous to self or others
  • Have the capacity for active participation in all Seed Sower activities and responsibilities, including maintenance of the residence, cooking and general cleaning
  • Be ambulatory and meet personal needs without assistance
  • Additional criteria may include health screening (example COVID-19)

Jobs and Hope WV - Jobs & Hope West Virginia is the state’s comprehensive response to the substance use disorder crisis. Established by Governor Jim Justice and the West Virginia Legislature, this program offers support through a statewide collaboration of agencies that provide West Virginians in recovery the opportunity to obtain career training and to ultimately secure meaningful employment.

Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking.
