MEASURE.  PLAN.  ENGAGE.

SUD Abatement strategies

Upon admission to Seed Sower Village, each resident  completes an initial  Recovery Capital (REC CAP) assessment using our Advanced Recovery Management System (ARMS).  Based on that assessment, our ARMS navigators can guide individuals in the execution of concrete recovery goals over time.

Seed Sower Programs and Areas of Focus

1. Housing and Transportation

We provide safe, supportive, supervised housing.  Our home consists of bedrooms for 11 women .  We also offer a full kitchen, dining room, community living room, gym, staff offices, and the supervisor’s quarters.  We meet all transportation needs of our residents through the use of vans.

2. Recovery Management, Mapping, and Planning (ARMS)

We help our residents navigate their recovery pathways through the use of the Advanced Recovery Management System (ARMS) – an innovate platform that leverages the best recovery residence research into an actionable plan that “measures, plans, and engages” recovery.

3. Peer Recovery Support Services (PRSS)

Our facility has a peer recovery support specialist on site 24-hours a day, 7 days per week to assist our residents in their journey and to act as their ARMS navigators.

4. Training, Certification, and Employment Support

Seed Sower will help subsidize the cost of career development and training programs for all residents.  Upon admission, our residents are simultaneously enrolled in the Fruits of Labor Inc. Culinary and Agricultural Training Program – an American Culinary Federation certified “Quality Program” – the only one of its kind in WV.  Fruits of Labor, Inc is a long standing friend and partner of Seed Sower.

5. Recovery Ecosystem Development

Seed Sower will actively engage community organizations, local governments, faith-based organizations, private businesses and individuals to promote “recovery ecosystems” in each community that provide a collaborative network of support for the recovering adult and work together to reduce the damaging effects of the stigma of SUD.

6. The Seed Sower Growth Space

Seed Sower’s commercial enterprise, the “Seed Sower Growth Space”, is a fully equipped commercial kitchen that will be utilized as a shared resource in the community in which entrepreneurs and businesses with a desire to have social impact in recovery will have access to the space and equipment needed to grow their business while providing a safe, supervised space for recovery-to-work interaction with our residents.

7. Broad-based Program Evaluation, Data Collection, and Outcome Reporting

Recovery residences, as an institution, are historically undersupported in the recovery continuum of care, but research indicates they are vital to long term remission efforts.  Seed Sower, in coordination with The Fletcher Group and the Recovery Outcomes Institute will engage in robust data collection across multiple domains to gauge the efficacy of our residential services and their impact on long term remission success rates.  Our goal is to demonstrate that recovery residences in a rural setting can be viable, successful, and established as a best practice in the continuum of care. This is accomplished through the administration and tracking of data across multiple standardized questionnaires over time to gauge short-term, mid-term, and long-term recovery success.

Recovery Capital and Recovery Ecosystems

Recovery Capital is the sum of resources needed to start and sustain recovery from substance misuse. Recovery Ecosystems refers to a community wide system of wraparound  services. Understanding these practices more fully can be helpful.
